January 2024 Meeting of the Chapter

We hope you will join us for our first 2024 AEG Inland Empire meeting and 30th Anniversary of Northridge EQ - Where were you when the Quake hit????? The meeting will be held Wednesday, January 17th, at the Aftershock Brewery, in Temecula. This is a new venue for AEG, and the address is below; we are having the roving meeting locations to get as many people involved in the revived Chapter as possible. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Cost: $45 per person with reservations in advance for AEG members, $50 without reservations (at the door) and non-members, $10 for students with a valid student ID and current AEG Student membership; the Student Membership is FREE, but it sometimes takes a few days to receive a student member number, so join early. All members should note that membership renewal for 2024 opened on October 1st.

Presentation Summary:
Fault hazard investigations with deep alluvium and in urban environments where working space is limited are challenging. Mr. Kasman has utilized deep exploration techniques to obtain information necessary to effectively evaluate the fault hazards within a site.
 
Speaker Biography:
Mr. Kasman comes to us from AEG's Southern California Chapter. He has 36 years of experience in the geotechnical field, beginning his career at Harley Tucker and then spending 15 years at Law Crandall. He is a Senior Geologist and Vice President at Geocon West, Inc. providing his geologic expertise primarily in the LA Region and throughout California for Geocon since 2005. His professional experience entails performing and managing multidisciplinary geotechnical investigations for major developments including tunnel and pipeline alignments, embankments, transportation infrastructure, and residential, commercial, and municipal projects. Gerry is the technical lead for Geocon's instrumentation and fault hazard investigations.
